014 - Bike riding / learning to skip / hula hoops / roller skating / relay races

Happy hump day, we're halfway through the week. Don't worry, mums and dads. We know that many of you are still homeschooling, and we've got another five fabulous activities for you today. The theme today is PE, and we're getting back to basics and good old fashioned fun. Let's get started.

  1. Ride bikes, bike riding, has obvious health benefits for the whole family, and it's a fun activity. It also teaches kids balance and coordination, PE without feeling like it's PE.

  2. Teach them how to skip. Remember when you were a kid, and your friends would hold the rope at either end. It's something we never see anymore, and it's not only fun for your kids, but it's a great way to relive the memories and those silly songs from your childhood.

  3. Buy hula hoops and have a hula competition with them. Hula hoops have made a comeback in recent years for weight loss, so why not trim the mum or dad tum and have some fun with the kids at the same time.

  4. Roller Skating. This is another trend making a comeback. I have seen so many videos of people roller-skating with their big 70's and 80's roller skates. Retro fun and a dying art you can revive with your kids.

  5. Hold a relay race. This can be done among siblings or out in the street with other kids. They can even do a social distanced relay race. Not only is it great exercise, but it also teaches them the importance of teamwork and allows them a bit of healthy competition.
